Flag of Luxembourg available in 100% Polyester fabric and various measures from 060X100 to 150x300. Particularly suitable for outdoor use and manufactured in European union.

Origin:
The three colours of the flag come from the coat of arms of the counts of Luxembourg, fixed in the 13th century.
The current flag appears during the Belgian revolution of 1830. At that time, Luxembourg was under the control of the King of the Netherlands and supporters of the Belgian Revolution were looking for a sign of rallying. They then chose the colors of their old coat of arms (red, white, blue) in three horizontal bands. It was a way to assert their national identity while drawing inspiration from the French tricolor model, symbol of freedom.
The flag was officially adopted on 23 June 1972 with the law on national emblems.
Due to the persistent resemblance with the flag of the Netherlands internationally, Luxembourg made a second flag official in 1972 (then specified in 1993 and 2007): the flag for shipping and aviation. He takes back the lion on the ten-white and blues stripes to avoid confusions on sea or in the air.

History:
In 1235, Count Henry V of Luxembourg adopted the red lion with a forked tail, set against a background of ten horizontal white and blue bands as his distinctive coat of arms.
The flag was then inspired during the Belgian revolution by the tricolor flag with horizontal stripes. At that time, Luxembourg was under the control of the King of the Netherlands, but a large part of the population supported the Belgian insurgents against King William I. The Luxembourgers then decided to adopt a flag in the colors of the coat of arms of the counts of Luxembourg by incorporating sky blue instead of dark blue to distinguish it from the Dutch flag.
On 23 June 1972, a law on national emblems finally officially established the tricolor Red, White and Sky Blue as the national flag, and in 2007, a law specified the exact shades of colors to avoid graphic variations and confirmed the use of the Red Lion (Roude Léiw), which takes up the design of the medieval coat of arms (10 white and blue stripes with the red lion for aviation and navigation, and the tricolor flag for national ships to prevent Luxembourgish ships from being confused with Dutch ships.

Meaning:
The national flag of Luxembourg consists of three horizontal stripes of equal dimensions: red, white and sky blue.
• A strong symbolism: Although their origin is historical, these colors are today attributed deep values:
o The Red: Symbolizes the strength, courage, and determination of the people (as a reminder of the blood of the heraldic lion).
o The White: Represents peace, innocence, and harmony.
o Le Bleu Ciel: Embodies loyalty and justice.
• A unique identity: Unlike the flag of the Netherlands, which uses a dark ultramarine blue, Luxembourg proudly sports a sky blue to assert its national distinction.
• Two flags for a nation: Luxembourg has the distinction of using two emblems:
1. The Tricolore: Used for official buildings and international representation of the country (UN, European Union).
2 The "Red Lion" (Roude Léiw): Very popular at sporting events and popular festivals, it is often considered as the "heart" flag of Luxembourgers, symbolizing their attachment to the medieval roots of the Grand Duchy.
