Origin :
Amir-ud-Din Khidwai is responsible for the design of the flag of Pakistan , and was based on the banner of the Indian Muslim League, a political party that was created at the beginning of the 20th century.
History :
Pakistan was almost a century under British rule, until in 1947 the country declared its independence. Allama Iqbal and Muhammad Ali Jinnah had a lot to do with it. After independence, the country became the territory of the Muslims who lived in the east and west of India. The first government was formed by the Muslim League, but a coup d'état in the 50s ended with him. Its history since then has been marked by political instability. In 1971, East Pakistan split up and became Bangladesh.
Meaning :
The Pakistani flag , which was adopted in 1947 - a few days before the proclamation of independence - is known as 'Sabz Hilali Parcham', which in Urdu means: "Green flag with the half moon", which is quite descriptive in itself. As in other Muslim schools, green represents Islam. As for the half moon, white, it refers to progress; and the star, also white and five-pointed, symbolizes knowledge, as well as light. Finally, the white vertical band at the end attached to the mast refers to the religious minorities of Pakistan.
