Origin :
The current Texas flag was approved in 1839, when it was the Republic of Texas, an independent state that remained that way until the end of 1945, the year in which it became part of the United States.
History :
In the early years of the Republic (1836-1839), Texas had a blue banner with a yellow five-pointed star in the center. When it became part of the United States, it adopted the emblem of the country, which you can buy in our online store. However, in 1861 there was a new division that gave rise to the Confederate States of America, a country composed of eleven southern states that lasted until 1865, and that had its own flag, with the same colors as the American, but with a design different.
After 1965, the flag of the United States was re-used, although that of Texas has remained the property of that State.
Meaning :
The flag of Texas is divided horizontally in two, with the white upper part -symbol of freedom and purity- and the lower one, red -refined-. On the side closest to the mast is a vertical blue stripe-loyalty-with a white five-pointed star in the center. For it is also known as the State of the lonely star.
This teaches is very similar to that of Chile, with the difference that, in the latter, the blue part only occupies the quadrant of the upper half.
