History :
Mozambique was under Portuguese colonial rule. This colonial government caused discomfort among the indigenous population and, as a result of this discontent, the Liberation Front of Mozambique was born, which gave rise to the war of independence, finally achieved in 1975. Meaning :
This Mozambique flag , which you can buy on our website, is composed of three horizontal stripes: green, black and yellow, divided by two thin white lines. On the left, a red triangle keeps all the bands together. And on it is the shield, composed of several elements: a golden star, symbol of the solidarity of the Mozambicans and their belief in socialism; a book that represents education; a hoe that refers to the workers of the field; and an AK-47 rifle, which refers to the courage of the people to guarantee their freedom.
On the other hand, as regards the colors of the banner, they mean the following: green symbolizes flora and fauna, white represents peace, black refers to Africa, yellow refers to mineral wealth, and Red is a symbol of the struggle for independence.
